Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first satellite in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Systems Administrator.

At Kepler, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of our software, hardware and networks. You will also be responsible for managing, maintaining and upgrading our infrastructure, including implementing preventative measures to safeguard and improve our systems. Overall, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the continuous operations of our IT, which enable our people to do their best work!


Position Responsibilities:


  • Manage systems infrastructure including databases, computer equipment testing, firewalls, malware and/or other hardware and software
  • Install and configure software, hardware and networks across the company
  • Create user accounts and set-up hardware and other IT equipment
  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, desktop and mobile phones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide technical support to end users as/when issues arise
  • Ensure continuous network connectivity throughout our LAN/WAN infrastructure and maintain network servers such as file servers and our VPN gateway
  • Monitor the integrity of internal systems on a daily basis and address any security breaches or other security concerns
  • Backup systems and verify completion of backups
  • Support with data recovery efforts as needed
  • Integrate new systems and applications into our current technologies as needed
  • Upgrade systems and hardware as needed
  • Create internal Wiki’s, technical documentation and IT-related policy and procedure documents as needed  
  • Make recommendations for future system upgrades etc.


Position Requirements:


  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking or related field or equivalent related experience
  • 1-2+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with maintaining networks (LAN, WAN)
  • Familiarity with Linux operating environment
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues quickly
  • Knowledge of system security concerns and vulnerabilities, including possible proactive and reactive measures to address concerns/vulnerabilities
  • Ability to respond to urgent help requests outside of regular working hours (ability to work non-standard hours to meet the needs of end users or others)


Bonus Points:

  • Experience with programming in C/C++
  • Experience in a fast-paced and high growth start-up environment
  • Experience managing a LDAP/Radius
